If you’re like me and have spent a lot of time around Christian circles, the idea of “worship” can eventually tend to feel stale. A “been there, done that” type of experience. It is probably due to pride and sin on my part, however God has chosen to sovereignly use my sinful experience of dissatisfaction with modern worship to open my eyes to worship opportunities in unconventional ways. Worship doesn’t start and stop when the praise band plays. By God’s grace, life offers us a myriad of ways to experience His common grace and fall before Him in reverence and awe. I’ve found that, as He’s opened my eyes to worship experiences beyond the 4/4 time signature and a GCDE chord progression, He has redeemed the times when I am worshipping along with a praise band to be so much sweeter. Below are some example videos of what I’m talking about that I hope you enjoy. Don’t just watch videos though. Pray and ask God to give you fresh eyes as you get out into His world and discover new ways to worship Him!I’m moved to worship watching this video when I see people who are from vastly different cultures being united in joy and dancing. To me it is a muted picture of Revelation 7:9-12 as believers from every tribe, tongue, nation and language are united in joyful worship of the one true God. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zlfKdbWwruYUnconventional art.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0tv-2sjc7aIA dark yet moving depiction of the gospel through short film.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XMMZOVxANVQLouis C.K. and Conan’s conversation where they brilliantly yet unwittingly affirm their depravity and need for a Savior.
